I was recently featured in a customer spotlight article by the EasyStand company. EasyStand makes a piece of exercise equipment for those who have spinal cord injuries. It is called the Standing Frame and it allows an individual to stand upright. After my accident, the Standing Frame was the first piece of equipment I had at my home. I would get in the Standing Frame everyday for about an hour. I always liked it because it allowed me to stand up and stretch out. Anyway I wanted to share the article with you guys. Thanks a lot and God Bless!

Yesterday I attended a Washington Redskins game with my friend Scott from Baltimore. The Redskins play their home games in Landover, which is about 30 minutes from Baltimore. The Redskins played against the Arizona Cardinals… I think the Cardinals brought the desert heat with them because it was quite toasty. It was a lot of fun though, as the Redskins won 24-17 in a pretty good game. Scott is trying to convert me into a Washington Redskins fan. We had a lot of fun.
I have been continuing my therapy this past week. Things are going really good. I have been staying extremely busy with both school and therapy. I have met a lot of new patients at therapy. Please be sure to keep all of these guys in your prayers. They are unbelievable heroes. We have been working a lot on walking in braces at therapy. It is going really good and I feel like I am making a lot of progress. I feel like I am more advanced from where I was before my wound than where I am now. That is very encouraging news. I am taking it one day at a time and giving it everything that I have. I can not tell you guys thanks enough for all of the support. Thank you so much for all of the thoughts, prayers, and support. God Bless!!!

It is time for me to give you guys an update… I apologize for not posting of late, but I have been super busy. Things are going really good in Baltimore. I started therapy earlier this week on Monday. It has been really good to get back to work. It was pretty neat because I got in my braces on the first day and it seemed like I picked up right where I left off. I am doing therapy three days a week at Kennedy Krieger Institute. I am also working out on the other days of the week in my gym. I feel like I am starting to get back in the shape I was weeks before… I am extremely sore!!! I have been going to school lately and I am really enjoying it. I like all of my professors and my classmates. I have met a lot of neat people up here. I am continuing to take the 4-AP and I am starting to feel a little different. I don’t know what the case is, but my waist area is tingling big time. It wasn’t like this in the past. It is very encouraging… I don’t know what this means, but I am taking it as a positive! Well, I am fixing to head to therapy. Just wanted to give you guys an update and I will be sure to post a lot sooner in the future. Thank you all for the thoughts, prayers, and support. I feel very blessed to have the people in my corner that I have. I would not be here today or have the opportunities that I have without you guys… Thanks again and God Bless!

Yesterday I had a doctor’s visit with Dr. Sadowsky. The visit was for her to check up on me and get me readmitted for therapy. I will be starting my therapy up here on Monday. I am very excited about getting back in the groove of therapy. I will be working with Claire on my therapy program. I also was recently prescribed a new drug called 4-AP. Dr. Wise Young explains 4-AP very well… “4-AP (or 4-aminopyridine) is a drug that improves the function of surviving nerve fibers in your spinal cord. Most people with spinal cord injury still have some connections, but many have lost their myelin (an insulating material) and cannot conduct signals well. 4-AP allows these de-myelinated axons to send signals.” Here is more information about 4-AP (http://http://www.mult-sclerosis.org/news/May2000/4APFAQ.html). Anyway, I just wanted to share this information with you guys. Thanks for all of the thoughts, prayers, and support… God Bless!!!
